These are not the best of times for English singer Alexander James O’Connor, long famous as Rex Orange County, as he stands accused of sexually assaulting a woman.
The “Amazing” singer is charged with six counts of sexually assaulting a woman. He appeared at Southwark Crown Court in London on Monday and pleaded not guilty to intentionally sexually touching a woman without consent.
A statement issued on the singer’s behalf claimed that he is shocked by the allegations because the claims made against him never actually happened. But he looks forward to clearing his name in court.

According to multiple sources, the assaults had taken place in June in his London home and a taxi. Interestingly a month after the alleged assault, the singer had announced he was cancelling his European tour dates, citing “unforeseen personal circumstances.”
Rex Orange County was released on unconditional bail pending his trial on January 3, 2023.
