The Manchester United staff is “divided on whether Mason Greenwood should be allowed to resume his career at the club,” according to a recent article by The Guardian. Prosecutors recently dismissed an attempted rape allegation against the football player, allowing the club to decide whether to take him back or let him go.
According to The Guardian, a sizable percentage of the workforce would be dissatisfied if he played for the club once more, while others “feel a responsibility of care” toward him because he joined at age seven and was cleared of all charges.
The football star had denied the charges of attempted rape, controlling and coercive behavior, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. The case was dropped after key witnesses withdrew cooperation from the investigation.
