Focalistic “Ghetto Gospel” Album Review
Piano star Focalistic has released his third project. In 2020, Foca dropped “Quarantined Tarantino.” The project was inspired by and recorded during the lockdown. It housed ten tracks and featured some of the big names on the scene. He returned in the same year with “Sgubhu Ses Excellent.” The album housed 15 tracks and featured contributions from DJ Maphorisa, Mdu aka TRP, Mellow & Sleazy, and more.
If you’re going to name the album “Ghetto Gospel,” you’ll have to use cover art that speaks volumes without saying much. If we say so ourselves, we believe Focalistic did justice to this. The cover art for his album features a photo of him blending into the dimmed light with silhouetted ladies standing left and right. There is a particular mystery about the album that makes you want to hear what it’s about. Oh, and the ladies have wings and halos. Ghetto angels, you might call them, but that’s left to you.

We don’t know about you, but we certainly love it when our faves give us a taste of what they have coming. We aren’t like everyone else who likes waiting until the album drops to hear everything. Foca dropped a few promotional singles, some of which featured on the project. “Sjepa” was a banger. It featured contributions from Mellow & Sleazy and M.J. “Tabela Hape” and has also gained praise from fans. It features Kabza De Small, Mellow & Sleazy, Myztro, and M.J. “Tseka Tse Nyane,” is currently the most popular song on the project. It features Mellow & Sleazy, M.J, and Pabi Cooper.

If there is anyone who understands the essence of collaborating with other artists and DJs, it most certainly is Focalistic. The Mzansi star has built a career by working with the best people on the continent. His album “Ghetto Gospel” features the best in the game. The featured acts include Mellow & Sleazy, M.J, Kabza De Small, Myztro, Pabi Cooper, Sjava, Herc Cut The Lights, Sfarzo Rtee, DBN Gogo, Elaine, Tshego, Venom, Shishiliza, Jay Sax, Justin99, DJ 787, Ch’cco, TitoM, SjavasDaDeejay, Lastborn, MHD, Felo Le Tee, Sjava and Dynasty. They all did a great job in bringing all the songs to life.
Summary
We like to think that Focalistic has had a lot of practice creating projects that he is good at it. It is evident that Foca vibes on solid energy. His “Ghetto Gospel” album packs just the right amount of energy and features the right amount of artists and DJs. He was not drowned out by the artists and DJs he collaborated with. It remained apparent that they were all swimming in Foca’s waters. The Mzansi star preached a different type of Gospel with this project, and the fans will certainly hear him.
