Xavi reveals Barcelona star at same level with Iniesta. Young midfielder Pedri, according to Barcelona manager Xavi, is on par with the club’s all-time great Andres Iniesta.
This was said by Xavi following Pedri’s pivotal performance in Barcelona’s 2-1 La Liga victory over Real Betis on Wednesday night.
Pedri, who just scored the game-winning goal against Girona, was essential to Barcelona as they surpassed rival Real Madrid by eight points at the top of the La Liga standings.
In his post-game presser, Xavi said, “He’s a player who is on another level, I’ve seen very few like him.”
“He is talented and on Iniesta’s level, but Andres has continuity in the sense that he is still active.”
“If we currently compare Iniesta to Pedri, Iniesta wins easily because he played for such a long time. He’s the best player Spanish football has ever produced, in my opinion. But Pedri is excellent. He shares the same talent.”
