U-20 AFCON Flying Eagles to face Zambia in two friendly matches

U-20 AFCON Flying Eagles to face Zambia in two friendly matches. Prior to this year’s Africa U20 Cup of Nations, the Nigerian Flying Eagles will play two exhibition matches against the Zambian team.

The two games are scheduled to take place in Abuja on January 27th and January 30th, 2023, respectively.

Adrian Kashala, the general secretary of FAZ, stated that the Zambian football governing body was in favor of the plan in a letter dated January 14, 2023. The Junior Chipolopolo will be flown to Nigeria as part of the proposed trip, and the NFF would pay for the Zambian delegation’s lodging, meals, and other logistical needs.

Since then, the Flying Eagles have been in camp and have played two friendlies, winning both and scoring a combined 11 goals as they step up their tournament preparation.

The hosts Egypt, Senegal, and Mozambique will compete against the Ladan Bosso team in Group A of the Africa U20 Cup of Nations, which runs from February 19 through March 11.

While Uganda, Central African Republic, South Sudan, and Congo compete in Group B, Zambia will face off against Tunisia, Benin Republic, and The Gambia in Group C.

All four of Egypt’s semifinalists will earn the right to represent Africa in the FIFA U20 World Cup finals, which will take place in Indonesia from May 20 to June 11 of this year.
