Tristan du Plessis, a multi-award-winning interior architect, has opened a new studio to broaden his creative reach.

His studio specializes in distinctive hospitality and luxury residential projects around the world and has ten years of experience.
His new residence will be the Cape Town studio, where he will divide his time between his professional and personal lives.

Here, we spoke with the renowned interior architect about his recent partnership with Black Coffee and his suggestions for those considering a career in interior architecture.

TDP: My recent work at the SAN Beach Club in Dubai has been a frenzy. A couple more overseas initiatives that I can’t yet discuss are also being worked on by our team.

I just attended the Accor Awards ceremony in Paris because it is an honor for me to serve as Head Judge this year.

GQ: How do you maintain your motivation?

TDP: By continuing to challenge my creativity, and now that we can travel once more, when I take in the historical landmarks and innovation from other designers like Lee Broom that inspire me to explore further.

GQ: How did your amazing cooperation with Black Coffee on the penthouse room at Hallmark House come about?

TDP: I love design just as much as Black Coffee.
