Tems set to receive another RIAA certification for ‘Higher’

Tems set to receive another RIAA certification for ‘Higher’. Tems, a global phenomenon from Nigeria, will soon get a second Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) trophy for her song “Higher.”

According to the chart news website Chart Data, Tems’ song “Higher” has sold more than 500,000 copies in the US, qualifying it for an RIAA plaque.

She released the track “Higher” off her EP “For Broken Ears” in 2020. The EP’s second RIAA-certified gold record, after the gold certification of “Free Mind” in 2022, is “Higher.”

Since her ascent to prominence in 2020 as a consequence of her efforts to Wizkid’s song “Essence,” Tems has maintained a worldwide following.

She created history as the first Nigerian artist to debut at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 with Future’s “Wait For U.” “Free,” her sole song.
