Babes Wodumo is criticized by the late Mampintsha’s mother, Zama Gumede, for her methods of grieving.
A day after her husband’s death, Babes Wodumo was observed at a music festival; more recently, she was seen in a club, indicating that she had resumed performing.
After years of conflict, Zama confessed to Zimoja that she has reconciled with the Gqom queen.

Zama also expressed her anger over Wodumo’s refusal to observe Mandla Mampintsha Maphumlo’s funeral at home.
“First of all, she is out partying and drinking on the streets; she is not at home. Second, she is not dressed in customary melancholy attire. The pastor’s daughter is defying the rules. She says, “She is going about things in her own way.
“Even though I don’t follow many traditions, I recognize that everyone deals with sorrow and healing in their own unique ways. However, this is wrong. It hurts to watch this. In some ways, she is demeaning my son.
Babes Wodumo’s mother-in-law worries that she might start seeing someone else soon.
“Why aren’t they speaking up? Not even a month has passed. It wouldn’t surprise me if she started dating someone. After everything, I am quite let down.
