Alec Baldwin to be charged with involuntary manslaughter over fatal ‘Rust’ shooting. After shooting film editor Halyna Hutchins on a set, actor Alec Baldwin will be charged with involuntary manslaughter.
In October 2021, Baldwin was practicing a scene for the Western movie Rust when Hutchins was fatally shot at a ranch outside of Sante Fe, New Mexico.
The movie’s armorer, Hannah Gutierrez Reed, will also face charges.
Both defendants’ attorneys, however, said that they will contest the allegations in court.
The accusations were made public on Thursday by Santa Fe’s district attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies, who also stated that they will be submitted before the end of the month.
Alec Baldwin, an actor and producer, and Hannah Gutierrez Reed, an armorer, will each face two charges of involuntary manslaughter, according to the statement. “I have decided that the evidence is adequate.”
